Brainstorming to Support Healing is a self-guided, online, educational module for Sexual Assault Response Coordinators (SARCs) and Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Victim Advocates (SAPR VAs) to assist in their work when supporting survivors.
We know that brainstorming is not a one-size-fits-all approach and will look different for every survivor. In modules one and two, users will review brainstorming skills and identify why these skills are useful in their work. Throughout modules three and four, users have the chance to build upon their existing skills by engaging with practice scenarios and discussing challenges that users may face when working with a survivor, such as resistance to brainstorming.
Learning Objectives:
- Use brainstorming as a tool to support healing from sexual assault
- Identify skills to utilize in brainstorming sessions, including building rapport, creating lists, identifying pros and cons, and role playing
- Implement brainstorming skills in conversation with survivors
- Work through common challenges to brainstorming
This module can be completed anonymously or for one hour of D-SAACP credit via the respective Get Started buttons above.
